Proper noun The Granth Sahib, formally known as the Guru Granth Sahib, is the central religious scripture and eternal spiritual guide of Sikhism. It is a voluminous collection of hymns, poetry, and writings that are considered the revealed word of God (Gurbani). It contains the compositions of the first five Sikh Gurus, the ninth Guru, and numerous saints and scholars from Hindu and Muslim traditions, selected for their harmony with Sikh teachings.
